Restoring the Thanks in Thanksgiving

What does Thanksgiving mean to you and your family? What are your traditions?

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday. I would like to remind folks to put the Thanks back into Thanksgiving.  To me Thanksgiving is a time to visit family and friends. Its not the time to shop for Christmas and what the best deal is on Black Friday you can get.

The older I become the more I long for the simpler time of being a child and listening to my Parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts telling stories in the kitchen while making dinner.

I miss playing board games and card games with my cousins  and going outside to ride bikes and play in the leaves.

What happened to those days of being still with family was pure joy?  Everyone is consumed with facebook and social media and what the latest news feed might be.

I challenge you all to be STILL this Thanksgiving. Turn off the electronic gadgets. Engage in meaningful Conversation with one another or go visit someone.  Most importantly be thankful for the loved ones around you for that is most precious one gift you will ever truly have.

Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving.
