CSR Blair Copen Making A Difference In Scioto County

In keeping with our Making a difference theme this week We would like to Spot light Blair and some of the organizations he is passionate about… Our Customer Service Representative Blair Copen joined the DRIVEN Foundation ( Former OSU Football Player & President-Roy Hall) and the Steven A. Hunter Hope Fund (Mark Hunter-Portsmouth, OH, named for his deceased son) on August of 2012. They hold an annual Charity Basketball Event. This will be the 2nd Annual event and will be held on May 15th 2015 at Portsmouth High School. Join Blair and the other volunteers as well as 10-12 former Ohio State Football Alumni as they fund raise and raise awareness for their respective missions to make a difference in the lives of families and children of Scioto County. The Steven A. Hunter Back Pack Program serves nearly 700 children in all but one school in Scioto County. Each child receives 5 pounds of food every Friday during the school year and 20 pounds of food before Christmas break. Blair has had the honor to head this Charity Basketball Event for the last three years. The first year all proceeds went to help a local child who had cancer and was held under Ballin’ for Boston. Blair will also have his 3rd Annual Flag football for a Cause Game on May 16th at the Trojan Coliseum. Blair has Alumni coming from Portsmouth, West Portsmouth, Northwest, and Minford to be a part of this event. Each player pays $50 to play and the entire amount goes towards the Steven A Hunter Back Pack Program. We raised $5,900 our first year, and last year we combined the Charity Basketball Event and Flag Football and raised over $14,000. STAY DRIVEN. DON’T GIVE UP. GO BUCKS! Blair is also the on Board (Treasurer) of the 501c3 non-profit, the Broken Needs A Healing. “We are just a Group of people who have been hurt, discouraged, pushed away and even broken in life- BUT GOD – picked each one of us up and said, I saved you and made you new- now you go make a difference and let everyone know THEY MATTER TO ME also!” These organizations are trying to do just that. Philippians 4:13 is the motto; Feed the belly, clothe the body and hug the heart of people… Thank you Blair for all you do as well as all those who volunteer their time and money to help better our community!
